A Call to Return to the Words and Way of Christ
Dear fellows in Christ,This evening, as I rested, an angel came to me in a dream and told me to write about this to the churches of Owen Sound. I awoke with urgency, knowing I must send this message without delay.
1 A Gospel that Transforms, Not Excuses
In recent years—and even among clergy in Owen Sound—I’ve seen a message take hold that grieves the heart of Christ: the idea that to be a Christian is to remain in sin. People speak of themselves as “sinners” while identifying as followers of Jesus—resigning themselves to ongoing disobedience, sometimes even cloaking it in self-pity or pride.
But this is not the gospel. Jesus did not suffer and rise again so we could live unchanged. He calls us not only to believe in Him—but to follow, to obey, to abide in Him, and to be made perfect in love.
“Why do you call Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?”
— Luke 6:46
“No one who abides in Him keeps on sinning.”
— 1 John 3:6
“If you love Me, keep My commandments.”
— John 14:15
“Be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.”
— Matthew 5:48
“If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”
— John 8:36
“My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.”
— Matthew 11:30
What did Jesus command?
Jesus is the way and the life, he taught us how to live—not through law, but through Spirit. His words are not weights but wings. He said:
- “Forgive, and you will be forgiven.” (Luke 6:37)
- “Love one another, as I have loved you.” (John 13:34)
- “Judge not, and you will not be judged.” (Luke 6:37)
- “Bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you.” (Luke 6:28)
- “Do unto others as you would have them do to you.” (Luke 6:31)
- “Go, and sin no more.” (John 8:11)
- “Take up your cross daily and follow Me.” (Luke 9:23)
To follow Him is to surrender every justification for judgment, cruelty, or violence and to embrace love for all. Every human bears God’s image; every soul carries the divine spark.
“That they all may be one … that the world may know that You sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.”
— John 17:21-23
If any congregation has echoed a gospel of resignation to sin, may this letter help heal that wound. I write in love and obedience to the command I received.
I have also attached a song we sang at Glad Tidings today "Yield Not to Temptation" may it inspire you.
2 A Heresy That Withholds Love—from People and Creation
A second error has gained ground: the notion that only one circle truly carries the Spirit while others—Christians of different traditions, people of other faiths, or those outside belief—are unworthy of love or fellowship. At times this contempt even extends to creation itself, as though the earth is unfit for care because it will one day pass away.
Why this is a profound heresy
- It denies God’s image in every person.
- It rejects the goodness of creation.
- It silences Christ’s command to love without limit.
- It forgets that we are vessels through which Christ abides and returns.
“The Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and keep it.”
— Genesis 2:15
“Who then is the faithful and wise steward … ? Blessed is that servant whom his master finds doing so when he comes.”
— Luke 12:42-43
“With the tongue we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse people who are made in the likeness of God … The wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.”
— James 3:9-10, 17
“We are indeed His offspring.” — Acts 17:28
“While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” — Romans 5:8
“God so loved the world …” — John 3:16
“God was in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself.” — 2 Corinthians 5:19
We are stewards, not owners. More than that, we are His vessels. Christ lives in us; He returns through us:
“Abide in Me, and I in you … apart from Me you can do nothing.” — John 15:4-5
“I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfectly one.” — John 17:23
Let us love what He loves, tend what He has made, and walk as those through whom He comes again.
3 An Invitation to Repentance and Radiant Witness
The Spirit of Christ never despises; He sees the Father’s image in every person and longs to draw all home. If any voice—pulpit or pew—has spoken otherwise, it is time to repent. The Father’s love is too wide, the cross too powerful, and the Spirit too free to be caged by pride.
This call to perfection is partnership, not pressure. Legalism controls and condemns; the indwelling Spirit transforms and illuminates. The Church is meant to shine—not with human effort, but with Christ’s own light, proving that He can change hearts, cleanse consciences, and raise people to a life that glorifies the Father.
I pray we return to this truth together, preaching and embodying it clearly, boldly, and with love. Owen Sound longs for the real Jesus—not a Christ who excuses sin, but the Lord who calls us to rise.
With abiding love in Christ,
Andrii
