Yep! Personally, I’m in favor of the name change DoD was whitewashing. We haven’t fought a defensive war since The War of 1812. The DoD has never been part of a defensive war. Sure, the method they used to add a different name was stupid, but at least the name is honest. People enlisting to “defend the country” at least won’t be tricked by the name if we officially change it.

This logic is beyond stupid. Spend this money on renewables and the need for military that large essentially goes away.

The thing that really gets me is if we spent this money on renewables we’d be out of the oil game already.
US military spending is already ~40% of global military spending, which is an insane number. Halving that budget could fix so many problems.
