Trump admin reportedly gets grand jury involved in attempt to identify Redditor.

The Trump administration has stepped up an effort to unmask a Reddit user who criticized Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

After failing to obtain information through a summons issued to Reddit, the government reportedly issued a subpoena demanding that Reddit provide the information and appear before a grand jury in Washington, DC.

The Intercept described the subpoena today. “According to a subpoena obtained by The Intercept, Reddit has until April 14 to provide a wide range of personal data on one of its users, whom US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents have been trying unsuccessfully to identify for more than a month,” the article said.

The party of “small government”… Man, Republicans are so fucking petty and pathetic. It sounds like no one was doxxed, no laws were broken, they were just criticizing ICE (like many of us do). The Trump administration has been losing their cases in court, so they… demand a representative of Reddit itself appear before a grand jury behind closed doors in Washington. Because a user on their service used their 1st Amendment rights to criticize the wannabe fascist regime!? This is absolutely disgusting…

Reddit has a chance now to redeem itself at least partially. But something tells me, that it will miss this chance.

Isn’t the fact that they’re forcing the government to fight it out before a grand jury proof they’re resisting the request?
