My guess is JE was writing in his cell, either letters to friends for help, or to Ghislane to release blackmail, or to the media to do the same. Once he was dead they destroyed any paper in his cell and any communications he’d had with anyone.
Maybe, but we have many of the papers that were found in his cell (and there’s all kinds of conspiracy theories about them). Why there would have been 4-5 bags worth of hardcopies of his communications laying around is the question I have - that would be an incredible amount of written communication for him to have laying around.
