Is this the consensus in the usa already? Just curious cause I’m not from there, and everywhere I look online this is the consensus (in my bubble at least).

Edit: I know the media doesn’t admit stuff like this, but I mean consensus in like the general feeling of talking to people in real life about this war.

We all knew it was distraction when he attacked Venezuela. And when that didn’t work, we all knew he would try something else.

Now he’s talking about attacking Greenland again.

Russia has him compromised as well as Israel, and they want the US out of Nato, Greenland is the president’s best idea of how to get his base behind pulling out.

See, people keep saying this, but I seriously doubt that he has the mental capacity for that level of strategic thinking.

If it were anyone else, JD Vance, for example, then I’d agree with you. But Trump? President shit for brains? I find that very difficult to believe.

I don’t think anyone’s saying he has these ideas. But he is probably influenced by people with these ideas.

Pretty much everyone I know (bar for those few still religiously devoted to doing their best impression of a boot polish sommelier) seems to be on the same page about how nearly everything Trump does is a distraction from the files, and that’s been the consensus for months now, even before the Iran War.

That said, I run in very different circles than those who make up the loyal core of MAGA, and I’ve learned to never doubt my countrymen’s ability to achieve new and rarified heights of stupidity and cognitive dissonance. I also never felt like most people even tolerated the idea of Donald Trump, and that led to an extremely unpleasant surprise in the wake of the 2024 election, so my social circle probably isn’t a particularly representative cross-section.
