  • What was the actual quote?

Like, I know trump sucks and absolutely says these things with his actions, but…

MeidasTouch is one of the most clickbaity, reactionary, and misleading excuses for “journalism” that we have on the left. The kid does a good job going head-to-head with conservative pundits on televised news, but I don’t take any of their headlines at face value, especially because they all tend to be inflammatory and are often no more than speculative.

I’m not giving them the web traffic to see if there’s anything of substance behind this headline. Anyone who did, care to share the direct quote?

  • I mean… I wish you the best, but… if they go so far as to deploy their paramilitary to polling locations, it’s not that crazy to think they could post up 24/7, especially in targeted areas like swing districts and blue cities.

Best to brace yourself to walk past them nonchalantly and hope they don’t approach you on your way to the dropbox. If you’re carrying multiple ballots then they might ask questions, though… And we all know that when it comes to ICE there’s a thin line between “asking questions” and “publicly executing”…

But if you’re already doing that then you might as well offer to carry ballots for any of your friends who happen to be hispanic and visibly queer, cause they’ll likely have more trouble getting past ICE.

And also, you may want to double-check the legality of carrying someone else’s ballot in your state, as I am not a lawyer…

Not trying to be a naysayer, I just want to make sure we’re all mentally prepared…

  • Not when it comes to security clearances. There are certainly some convictions that will disqualify a person from even applying, but also plenty where you could have a misdemeanor conviction in your past and still get a security clearance if it doesn’t make you blackmailable.

But they check for things like alcohol abuse, drug habits, sexual behavior, debt, gang affiliations, and any other dark secrets that could make you susceptible to bribery or blackmail. Cause if you have a security clearance and then fall for a foreign honeypot, it’s bad news.

Unless you’re a billionaire, member of congress, or otherwise born into the political elite, of course. Then they get you with the Israeli honeypot just for good measure, but they’ll still give you a security clearance in that case because then they get to control you.

That’s why it was such a big deal when trump forced clearances through for all his cabinet picks without proper investigations. Because if proper investigations were actually done, none of them would have qualified…
