If information needs to be added, changed, or removed, visit the City Hall Service Counter in person with appropriate identification. Eligible voters can also register or update their information at an Election Centre during the October 16 to 26 voting period.

Voting Opens October 16
VOTE EARLY
Voting opens at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 16 and closes at 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 26, 2026.
Vote online or by telephone 24 hours a day throughout the voting period. Owen Sound uses Simply Voting. Election Centres provide in-person access and assistance with the electronic voting system.

Your Voter Information Letter
Voter Information Letters will be mailed in October. Your letter will include voting instructions, the Simply Voting web address, the telephone number for voting, your unique PIN and the candidate list. If your letter does not arrive, visit City Hall with identification to confirm your registration and receive it.
How electronic voting works
- Receive your Voter Information Letter.
- Use the supplied PIN and your date of birth.
- Vote online at owensound.simplyvoting.com, or call the telephone number printed on your letter.
- For telephone voting, listen to the prompts and enter candidate codes using the touch-tone keypad.
- Review your choices and change any selection before submitting your ballot.
The City describes internet voting as faster than telephone voting. Use the back of your Voter Information Letter to organize your choices before you start. Paper ballots are not part of this election.
Election Centres
Residents can receive assistance, register or update their information, ask questions, and vote independently at an Election Centre.

- October 24 to 25: noon to 4:00 p.m.
- October 26: noon to 8:00 p.m.
Retirement homes and long-term-care facilities will also host Election Centres for residents. Times will be posted at each facility.
Ballot planning
Make a Plan for Your Ballot
Owen Sound voters will choose one Mayor and up to seven Councillors. Scott Greig has been acclaimed Deputy Mayor, so there is no Deputy Mayor contest to decide on the ballot. Voters may also select the applicable School Board Trustee.
Nominations have closed, and the certified candidate list is now available. Review the official list on the City election website.
Telephone voting codes
The Mayor and Councillor codes follow the candidates' certified alphabetical ballot order. The codes are printed with each candidate in the comparison so you can keep the number beside the name when planning a telephone vote.
School Board Trustee codes are not listed here because no authoritative project record establishes them. Use the candidate list and instructions supplied by the City.
