Official voting information
VOTE EARLY
Voting opens at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 16 and closes at 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 26, 2026.
Vote online, by telephone, or in person at an Election Centre. Voting remains available around the clock online and by telephone throughout the voting period.
How voting works
Voter Information Letters will be mailed in October. Each letter will contain voting instructions and your unique PIN for the internet or telephone voting system.
The 2026 Owen Sound municipal election uses electronic voting. People voting in person at an Election Centre will use the election system there, with help from election staff if desired. Paper ballots will be unavailable.
If your letter does not arrive, visit City Hall with identification to confirm your registration and receive a letter.
Election Centres
Residents can receive assistance, register or update their information, ask questions, and vote independently at an Election Centre.
Heritage Place Mall
1350 16th Street East- October 17 to 18: noon to 4:00 p.m.
- October 24 to 25: noon to 4:00 p.m.
- October 26: noon to 8:00 p.m.
Retirement homes and long-term-care facilities will also host Election Centres for residents. Times will be posted at each facility.
Check your registration
The August 12, 2026 online-update deadline has passed. Beginning September 1, voters can register or update their information in person at City Hall.
